It's going to be hard to get it back to the new alum. look, trailer wash at the truck stops are going to turn it white, most of that stuff is acid, the closest thing i found to get back to natural finish is sos pads, but you got to rub in one direction, gets back to "almost" new looking alum, then i took it a step further and polished mine out... Hey guys i bought a used aluminum trailer that has been used primarily in the salt but has been taken care of pretty good.it has the 5 1/2" in aluminum i beams and are a little dull from being used for two or three years.it has that rough look..

But to just wash away the aluminum oxide is to wash away part of your trailer. if the al is protected by some coating and the acid wash is just cleaning the coating then that's perfectly ok (assuming the intregrity of the coating)..
